USCCB (1:07) – The Catholic Church is absolutely committed to the safety of children. Together we can make a Promise to Protect, and a Pledge to Heal.

“Why this commotion and weeping?
The child is not dead but asleep…”
He took the child by the hand

and said to her, “Talitha koum,”
which means,

“Little girl, I say to you, arise!”
The girl, a child of twelve,

arose immediately and walked around.

CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH NASHVILLE (5:00) – This video uses the song “For the Healing of the Nations” as a refrain of the Prayers of the Faithful. It was produced during the Easter season in 2020.

The gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich,

for your sake he became poor,
so that by his poverty

you might become rich.

HEALTH CAREERS TV (2:15) – Throughout life, a woman’s body goes through tremendous shifts.

There was a woman afflicted
with hemorrhages for twelve years.
She had suffered greatly

at the hands of many doctors
and had spent all that she had.
Yet she was not helped

but only grew worse.

Intentions
Related the Readings

For those in our parish who seek wisdom and guidance, that they may be inspired by the words of Wisdom and the example of Christ. May they be granted the gift of discernment, making choices that promote the common good and serve the needs of the most vulnerable.

For the grace to cultivate a spirit of generosity within our community, as we reflect on the words of St. Paul. May we share our gifts and resources with one another, promoting a culture of abundance and equality that reflects the love and unity of the early Christian communities.

ASCENSION PRESENTS (4:58 – A 2015 interview with Cardinal Burke, who shares the importance of devotionals for Catholic families and explains the role they played for him in his childhood…. This extended faith life taught him from a young age that the family is “a little church.” He encourages families, especially young families, to create this kind of environment for their children.

Brothers and sisters:
As you excel in every respect,

in faith, discourse,
knowledge, all earnestness, and

in the love we have for you,
may you excel in this gracious act also.
