We pray for the well-fed of the world, that this week’s World Food Day (16 October) will remind them that no-one on earth should go to bed hungry or thirsty. (Pause for silent prayer) Lord, hear us.

We pray for the powerless caught in the cross-fire of brutal warfare in so many lands, that their unfathomable misery will be brought to an end and hope be reborn.

For Detachment from Worldly Pursuits in the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick

We pray for the grace to detach ourselves from worldly pursuits that hinder our ability to fully participate in the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. May we prioritize our spiritual growth and the well-being of our parish community, striving for a deeper appreciation and understanding of this sacrament of healing that nurtures and sustains our faith in times of illness and vulnerability.
