The passage talks about Jesus’ transfiguration. How do you perceive the idea of transformation or change in your own life?
Answer: Teens often experience significant changes, both physical and emotional, as they go through adolescence. Some changes may be challenging, but they can also lead to personal growth and understanding.
Peter, James, and John were invited by Jesus to witness his transfiguration. Have you ever felt privileged or chosen for a special opportunity? How did it make you feel?
Answer: Yes, when I was picked to perform a solo in the school play, I felt honored and excited. It boosted my confidence and made me work harder to meet the expectations.
The disciples were afraid when they saw Jesus transfigured. Can you relate to feeling scared or fearful in certain situations? How do you cope with those emotions?
Answer: Absolutely, there have been times when I felt anxious before an important exam or a public speaking engagement. Deep breathing exercises, talking to friends, or seeking guidance from trusted adults helped me manage those fears effectively.
Teenagers often struggle with finding their identity and purpose in life. How can we relate the concept of transfiguration to this search for self-discovery?
Answer: Like Jesus’ transfiguration, personal growth offers moments of clarity and understanding. Discovering our interests, passions, and values can greatly contribute to our sense of self and purpose.
In the passage, Elijah and Moses appear beside Jesus. If you could meet anyone from history or fiction, who would you want to encounter and why?
Answer: I would love to meet Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani activist for female education. Her story of bravery and advocacy has inspired me to speak up for justice and equality.
The disciples were told to keep the transfiguration experience to themselves until Jesus’ resurrection. Can you think of a time when you had to keep a secret? How did it make you feel?
Answer: Keeping a secret can be challenging, especially if it’s something exciting or important. It can make you feel trusted, but also anxious about accidentally letting it slip._
