Ascension of the Lord (Year C)
The Church
ABS-CBN News (3:24) - Pope Leo XIV held on Saturday (May 24) his first audience with Vatican City employees and their families. Leo granted all employees a sum of 500 euros, restoring the tradition of the bonus for the election of a new pontiff, which Pope Francis had dismissed. About 5,000 people work in the Vatican, including employees in the Curia - the government of the Catholic Church - and other Holy See workers.
Lord, we ask for Your divine blessings upon the Vatican employees and their families. May they continue to find inspiration in Pope Leo XIV's message of cooperation, humility, and understanding, as they contribute their unique talents and skills to the greater cause of the Church.

SAINT BENEDICT PARISH (3:19) - On the feast of the Ascension, Jesus gave his disciples directions: "...You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." On Ascension Sunday in 2023, parishioners were asked to stand up and be counted if they started following Jesus for the first time. After Mass, they shared their stories.
On this Solemnity of the Ascension, we remember the command Jesus gave to His disciples to be witnesses of the Gospel, spreading the message of love and salvation throughout the world. Today, we give thanks for those in our parish who have answered this call and publicly proclaimed their commitment to follow Jesus.
You are witnesses of these things.
