PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL – 22nd Sunday of Year B

We pray for Pope Francis, that he will sow seeds of hope and solidarity throughout his missionary visit to Australia’s northern neighbours, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea and Singapore.

For our priests, who are called to teach God’s statutes and decrees, may they proclaim the divine law with fidelity and zeal. We pray to the Lord.

For the faithful, that we may observe and uphold the commandments of the Lord, remaining steadfast in our commitment to walk in God’s ways. We pray to the Lord.

Jas 1:17-18, 21b-22, 27

For our priests, that they may embody the spirit of the Gospel, practicing and teaching God’s word with gentleness and integrity, becoming instruments of the Father’s will. We pray to the Lord.

For the faithful, that we may embrace the word of truth, living according to its teachings and becoming doers of the word, not merely hearers. We pray to the Lord.

For our priests, that they may serve as guides for the faithful, helping us to understand and follow the teachings of Christ with sincerity and love, avoiding false doctrines and practices. We pray to the Lord.

For the faithful, that we may heed Jesus’ call to honor God’s commandments, opening our hearts and minds to the truth, and rejecting hypocrisy and evil intentions. We pray to the Lord.
