PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL – 30th Sunday of Year B

We pray for Pope Francis who, like Jesus, responds to the calls of those in need. May everyone in the Church be inspired by these acts of compassion and mercy, and have the same spirit of love and concern for those who are hurting and suffering.

FIRST READING

Jeremiah 31:7-9

Restoration (Jeremiah 31:7-9)

Loving Father, just as you promised to gather and restore your people in the Old Testament, we pray for the restoration and renewal of our priests, who are the backbone of our faith communities. Grant them the strength to lead with dedication, and help them find solace in your love.

Petition for Unity (Jeremiah 31:7-9)

God of love, we pray that our priests foster unity among their congregations, uniting us as one body in Christ. Help them to heal divisions and reconcile those who are estranged, so that your people may live in harmony as a reflection of your divine love.

Hebrews 5:1-6

Compassionate Leadership (Hebrews 5:1-6)

We pray that you grant our priests the grace to be compassionate leaders, who can empathize with their congregations’ struggles and offer guidance in times of need, as Jesus did for Bartimaeus. Help them to be true servants of your people and always work for the good of your Church.

Wisdom (Hebrews 5:1-6)

Grant our priests the wisdom and discernment to offer guidance and counsel to those who seek their help. May they find inspiration in your word and lead their flocks on the path of righteousness, always working to build your kingdom on earth.

We pray that our priests, through their ministry, can be instruments of your healing grace, reaching out to those who are in need, both physically and spiritually. Help them to bring comfort to those who cry out to them, just as Jesus responded to the plea of Bartimaeus.

Give our priests the courage and perseverance to overcome the challenges they face in their ministry. As Bartimaeus persevered in his cry for healing, may they continue to be strong in faith and determined in their calling, serving as beacons of hope for your people.
