4th Sunday of Advent (A)
The Church
We pray for Pope Leo and all who preach the good news, that like the apostle Paul they will tirelessly proclaim the saving name of Jesus across the face of the earth. (Pause for silent prayer) Lord, hear us.

For the Church: that we, like Joseph, may wholeheartedly live our faith traditions and yet remain open to the mystery of God’s unconventional work in our lives and the world around us
For openness of heart: that, like Mary and Joseph, we may enter into the mystery of Godβs loving actions and co-operative with the work of God even when we don not understand how to proceed
For a deepening of faith: that through the mystery of Jesus becoming human, we may open ourselves to a fuller sharing in the divine life

The Church
4th Sunday of Advent (A)
TEN5SIX5 (5:00) – The Vatican Christmas tree tradition began in 1982 with Pope John Paul II when he received a Christmas tree as a gift from a Polish farmer, who had brought it all the way to Rome. Since then, the offering of the Christmas Tree to the Pope has become an honour, and each year the Vatican accepts a tree donated by a different European country or region.
May music and art flourish in the Church: That music may truly serve as a “dwelling place for the soul,” an inner space where our hearts can speak. We pray that the melodies of the season accompany our journeys, memories, and efforts, drawing our humanity ever closer to Godβs love. We pray to the Lordβ¦
You are called to belong to Jesus Christ;
to all the beloved of God in Rome, called to be holy.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ.
