Mk 1:21-28

1. Capernaum: A town on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel, where Jesus began his public ministry.

2. Sabbath: The Jewish day of rest and worship, observed from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

3. Synagogue: A Jewish place of worship and study.

4. Teaching: The act of instructing or sharing knowledge.

5. Authority: The power or right to give orders, make decisions, or enforce obedience.

6. Unclean spirit: A spiritual entity or demon that possesses or influences an individual in a negative or harmful way.

7. Authority over unclean spirits: The power or ability to command or control the spiritual entities that cause harm or disruption.

Dt 18:15-20

1. Prophet: A person who is chosen by God to act as an intermediary between God and humans, conveying divine messages and revelations.

2. Raise up: To appoint or choose.

3. From among their own kin: From the Israelite community.

4. Like you: Similar to Moses, who was a great prophet and leader in the Israelite community.

5. I will put my words into his mouth: God will give the chosen prophet the words to speak on His behalf.

6. Death: The punishment for falsely claiming to speak in the name of God or for speaking against the commands or revelations of God.
