Intercessions Based on Themes from the Readings 🔥
write 20 prayers of the faithful that are directly related to Dt 18:15-20; 1 Cor 7:32-35; and Mk 1:21-28. Use direct quotes from NAB

1. Heavenly Father, we pray for all those who experience suffering and trials, just as Job did, that they may find strength and perseverance in their faith: "Is not man's life on earth a drudgery?" (Job 7:1)

2. Lord Jesus, we humbly ask for your guidance and protection for all those who carry the Gospel message to the world, and who feel compelled to share it: "Woe to me if I do not preach it!" (1 Cor 9:16)

3. Father, we lift up all missionaries and evangelists, who willingly become all things to all people, in order to win them over to Christ: "To the weak I became weak, to win over the weak" (1 Cor 9:22)

4. Jesus, healer of all, we pray for all those who suffer from illnesses and infirmities, as well as those who care for them, that they may find comfort and healing in your loving presence: "He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up." (Mk 1:31)

5. Loving God, we ask for your compassion upon those who are burdened with physical, mental, or emotional pain, that they may experience your peace and find relief: "For misery comes not only from toil but also from futile days" (Job 7:3)

6. Lord Jesus, we pray for all doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, that they may be blessed with wisdom, skill, and empathy in their service towards others: "Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean." (Mk 1:40)

7. Father, we intercede for all those trapped in the darkness of addiction, that they may find the strength to break free and experience your saving grace: "For I have intended evils and you are my judges." (Job 7:20)

8. Jesus, the source of hope, we pray for all those who feel overwhelmed by the pressures of life, that they may discover your light in the midst of darkness: "Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed." (Mk 1:35)

9. Heavenly Father, we ask for your mercy upon those who feel abandoned or alone, that they may find solace in your loving presence: "Remember that my life is like the wind" (Job 7:7)

10. Lord Jesus, we pray for all leaders and decision-makers in the Church, that they may always prioritize the salvation of souls and lead with genuine love and humility: "I made myself a slave to all so as to win over as many as possible." (1 Cor 9:19)

11. Father, we implore your grace upon all families, that they may be united in love, support, and forgiveness, just as Jesus restored Simon's mother-in-law: "He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up." (Mk 1:31)

12. Jesus, divine physician, we lift up all those going through physical or mental anguish, that they may find relief and healing in your gentle touch: "She immediately waited on them." (Mk 1:31)

13. Heavenly Father, we pray for all those who tirelessly serve others, that they may find strength and fulfillment in their selfless acts of kindness: "Yet I still will not keep silent" (Job 7:11)

14. Lord Jesus, we ask for your grace upon all those discerning their vocations, that they may respond generously to your call, just as the apostles did: "They left everything and followed him." (Mk 1:18)

15. Father, we plead for your mercy for those who have lost hope, that they may find renewed faith and trust in your divine plan: "Will you not look away from me and let me be, until I swallow my spittle?" (Job 7:19)

16. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, we pray for all priests and religious, that they may faithfully live out their consecration and joyfully proclaim the Gospel: "Yet preaching the gospel is not the source of my pride" (1 Cor 9:16)

17. Heavenly Father, we ask for your comfort and strength for all those mourning the loss of loved ones, that they may find solace in the promises of your resurrection: "For I will not see happiness again." (Job 7:7)

18. Lord Jesus, we pray for all those engaged in the work of evangelization, that they may be filled with zeal and courage to proclaim your saving love: "I do it all for the sake of the gospel" (1 Cor 9:23)

19. Father, we entrust all those who have lost their way or strayed from their faith into your loving hands, that they may experience your mercy and be drawn back to you: "Thou wilt not seek me because my days vanish like a breath" (Job 7:16)
