It’s me again. Today’s Gospel is still talking about Jesus as the Bread of Life. Sometimes, Jesus says things that are hard to understand, and that’s okay. Even his closest friends, the disciples, had trouble understanding him sometimes. In the Bible story, some people listened to Jesus, but they thought his teaching was too hard. They didn’t like it.

Remember when you first learned to ride a bike? It seemed hard, but you kept trying, and now you can ride it easily. It’s like that with understanding Jesus’ teachings too. We need to keep trying and learning.

Jesus asked them, “Are you surprised by what I said?” He knew it was hard for them to understand, but he still wanted to teach them. It’s like when you don’t want to eat your vegetables because they don’t taste good, but you know they’re healthy for you.

Some people didn’t believe him, and they left. But Jesus asked his twelve special friends, “Do you want to leave too?” It’s like when some kids quit a sports team because it gets tough,

One friend, Peter, said, “No way! Who else would we follow? You have the most important words, Jesus, and we believe in you. We know you’re special and close to God.”

Sometimes in Church, we do things we might not fully understand, like when the priest says those special prayers during Mass or when we use holy water. It’s important to remember that even if we don’t understand everything, we keep learning and believing in Jesus because he knows what’s best for us. Just like we trust our parents, we can trust Jesus too.
