THE THOMISTIC INSTITUTE (8:35): – When the Holy Spirit comes to us, He bestows sanctifying grace on the soul, which includes the three theological virtues of faith, hope and love. At the same time, the Holy Spirit brings further and higher gifts to us, which enable us to act in an even higher mode than the theological virtues. Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P.

EDIFY (5:22) – Isn’t it ironic that communication tools – which are meant to connect us – so often become tools of division? While intended to be a place of connection and friendship, social media can often be toxic. It’s easy to be snarky, inconsiderate, or even mean when “hiding” behind a screen. What should Catholics do about it? Paulina Guzik, professor of communications at the Pontifical University of John Paul II, explains.
We pray for the light of truth to shine out across the world, that the dark power of social media for falsehood and disinformation will be exposed and disarmed…..
3 For healing of the human family: that God will heal the divisions between women and men, poor and rich, and every race so that we may work together for the good of every person and the fulfillment of God’s plan…

ANGELS GRACE HOSPICE (2:49) – Palliative care is specialized medical care that improves quality of life for patients with a chronic or advanced illness. Palliative medicine provides comfort and improves quality of life with a focus on relieving pain, suffering, stress and symptoms of living with a serious illness. Unlike hospice care, palliative therapy is not time-limited and does not require the patient to have a prognosis of six months or less to live.
We pray for the doctors, nurses and carers who minister to those approaching the end of their lives, that Palliative Care Week (19-25 May) will help make their work of compassion better understood and appreciated.
4 For all who are graduating this spring: that God will guide them in using their gifts and talents so that they will enrich the world and spread hope and peace through their efforts…

ASCENSION PRESENTS (7:38) – Have you been confirmed? Have you received the Sacrament of Confirmation yet? Does this mean you’re a “grown-up” Catholic now—that you’ve graduated? Not quite. There’s so much more to it than that.
We pray for children celebrating the sacrament of confirmation this year, that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit they will grow strong in faith, generous in love and resolute in hope….
