CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES (3:20) - The Good Samaritan parable teaches that showing compassion and sacrificial love to those in need is a way of encountering God and can inform and deepen one's prayer and relationship with God. To show compassion, one must stop, see the need with new eyes, and give of their own resources to take care of the need as it presents itself.
We pray for unheralded Good Samaritans who care for the needy with no thought of recognition or reward, that they will be blessed for their humble goodness.
