GOSPEL
- Be Kind to Everyone -Jesus wants us to be kind to everyone, even if they aren’t kind to us. He tells us to share our things and be nice to our friends, family, and even people who aren’t nice to us.
- Share Without Expecting Anything Back – Jesus teaches us to share our things with others who need them and not expect anything back. We should be happy to help people, just like we feel happy when someone helps us.
- Treat Others the Way We Want to Be Treated – This is called the Golden Rule. If we want our friends to be nice and share with us, we should be nice and share with them too.
- Love Everyone, Even People Who Aren’t Nice – Jesus tells us to love everyone, not just our friends or people who are nice to us. This can be hard, but it’s important because it helps make the world a better place.
- Be Generous Like God Is -Jesus reminds us that God is very generous to us, giving us our families, friends, and beautiful days. We should be generous too, sharing what we have and being happy for others when they have good things.
7th Sunday of Year C
Kid Talk

Hi friends! My name is Ana, and I am here to share next Sunday’s Gospel with you! It is from the book of Luke, chapter 6, verses 27 to 38. In this story, Jesus teaches us how to be kind, forgiving, and loving to others, just like God is to us.
Jesus starts by telling us to be kind to everyone, even those who are not kind to us. I know, it can be hard sometimes. But imagine if everyone did this! …

OSV Family
Activities
Choose one of the following OUR SUNDAY VISITOR activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:
Provide materials for each family member to cut out a paper heart shape. Invite each family member to think of one person in their life that is difficult to deal with and write the name of the person on their heart. Perhaps it is a colleague or a classmate. Maybe it is a family member. Once everyone has written a name, pray togethering asking God to bless these people.
Think about how you live together as a family. Talk about how your family follows Jesus’ teaching to “bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Write these examples on a piece of paper and hang it in your home where it can serve as a reminder to always act with mercy.
Jesus teaches that if we “give, gifts will be given” to us. Invite each family member to share about a time when they were generous or did an act of service and they received gifts in return.

The Golden Rule
Sermons 4 Kids
OBJECTS: Bubbles for blowing; few dollars in cash; bag of chips; video game controller
Today we’re reading in the Bible about something Jesus, our King, said was important to do. Many people call this “The Golden Rule.” (Invite kids to share if they know what it is.)
Jesus taught that loving one another, even people we don’t get along with is really important. And one way we do that is to treat others how we want to be treated. So if we want others to welcome us when we’re new to their school, then we do that for others. Or if we want others to be kind to us, we are kind to others. We’ll learn more about that today.

Giving More Than is Needed
Sermon Writer
OBJECTS: Candy bar. Share with children, if appropriate.
Let’s see what we can learn about this word – generosity. Imagine that you and your friend were given a candy bar. You take the candy bar, unwrap it, and break it into two pieces. Oops, one piece is much larger than the other. Which piece do you give to your friend?
If you choose to give your friend the larger piece you are a generous person. You know about generosity. We could say that generosity is when you give something to another person without expecting to receive anything in return.
We can be generous in many ways. Let’s make a list.
Some people are generous with their time. They offer to help others even though they may be tired and busy.
Some people are generous with their talents. These people, who may be singers, builders, writers, caregivers, gardeners, or teachers, offer their special gifts to others. (These examples may be personalized to be more meaningful to the children.)
